How many pool cues have been thrown away after use? It's hard to count exact number, but we can guess it will be many. A pool cue has to be changed its tip part as time goes by. When we changes a tip, grinds a wooden stick and a tip to make them fit together. Therefore a pool cue stick gets thinner as used/changed a tip which makes its lifetime end.

당구 큐는 사용하면서 팁을 교체해줘야 하는데 이때  팁이 부착되는 당구 큐 상부를 사포로 갈아 맞춰준다. 사용횟수가 늘어나 팁을 많이 교체하게 되면 큐대의 상부가 점점 얇아져 더이상 사용하지 못하고 버려지게 된다. 2006년 통계청자료를 보면 한국에 약 9,728개의 당구장이 있다고 조사되었다.
